Beautiful Setting
Great views over The Moray Firth. Room clean, comfortable and cosy. Dinner was excellent and enjoyed the walk into Cullen across the viaduct aided by a torch.

A very positive experience
The staff are outstanding, working with a positive purpose all the time, but not too busy to acknowledge and assist the customers with a smile. The hotel is clean and presented to a high standard. We were attending a wedding the catering for a large group of people was excellent!! Well done all round.

A Fab Place To Stay
I loved this hotel, from the moment we arrived when we were greeted by a very friendly and efficient receptionist, to the fabulous room, and the lovely, freshly cooked breakfasts. We dined in the hotel the first night and the young staff were very professional too. We will definitely stay here again.

Hotel staff were very friendly, food was amazing, room was very clean and our dogs loved their stay and were also made to feel welcome. Directly cross from the hotel a path takes you onto the fold course and then the beech.We will certainly be coming back.If I was to have anything changed the shower was a bit noisy when in use but that is me being pickly.

An amazing view...when you can see it...but stay here anyway.
We chose this hotel for the charm and view. Charm it had plenty of, but on the night of our visit it was completely fogged in. So maybe think twice about paying extra for a sea view, but stay here anyway. The rooms were good sized and the staff was friendly and helpful. Our only complaint would be the walls are a bit thin because we could hear our neighbor snoring all night.

Thank you again to all the staff at theCullen Bay Hotel. It was our third time staying here.As always we were made to feel very welcome. All round it had good wide selection ofchoices of drinks, food and as ever a superb view over Cullen Bay.Our room was in the centre of the building so it didn't have a sea view. Well laid out and clean with coffee and tea making in place.Certainly we will returnagain.

Great location, great service.
My return visit to Cullen Bay Hotel did not disappoint. Staff could not have been more helpful when planning and during my stay. This traditional hotel will deliver a flavour of Scotland's famous hospitality and a taste of local culture. Dinner and breakfast were a delight with the added bonus of being served in a wonderful sun room overlooking the bay. The beach can be accessed by a 10-15 minute walk. Overall - a warm welcome, lovely accommodation, great food a stunning location.

The staff is friendly, very helpful anddoes everything for the guests. A surprise were the renovated rooms. The view, also from dining as well as from breakfast room on to the see is unbeatable. Parking on the site is no problem. The cook has always new ideas for alterations of his delicious dishes.

Mixed feelings about this hotel . Here for a couple of days escape with our dog after a busy summer .The staff and service here are second to none . The hotel is dog friendly and Bramble hasbeen spoiled rotten . Special mention to Caitlin who looked after us so wellOn the down side our room was a bit tired ( I expect we had one of the smaller rooms as we have a dog with us )The bathroom could do with beingmodernised.All in all though we have enjoyed our stay and the location is fantastic.

Great stay
We have stayed at Cullen Bay Hotel for a number of years. The staff are very friendly and helpful and some have remembered us from former visits. The restaurant menu provides a good variety of food and the chef uses locally sourced products wherever possible and the result is exceptionally displayed and delicious cuisine. The breakfast menu includesa wide variety of items very well prepared and served with a smile!! The proprietors are on site and are very involved and the result is an attractive and welcoming hotel which provides excellent accommodation at a reasonable price.

The view from the Turret room was amazing!! Fun little town and coastal walk along the beach. The staff was friendly.

Lovely stay as first time tourists to see friends in Scotland
We were in one of the rooms at the front with large bay windows so the view was amazing and entrancing. Staff were ever so friendly and nothing as too much trouble. Breakfast was great and filled you up for the day, and we had four thoroughly enjoyable evening meals there too, so much so that we invited our friends who lived locally to join us there. Great location to see the long, long beach, Portsoy harbour, and an amazing beach at East Lossiemouth. Highly recommended.

A fine hotel in a wonderful location.

Wonderful stay
We had an excellent stay at this lovely seaside hotel with the most beautiful view looking out over Cullen Bay. The hotel staff were so friendly and welcoming, and particularly accommodating with our golden retriever. Very dog friendly, prefect location, delicious hotel food. A wonderful stay and would love to visit again!

We had a wonderful stay at the hotel, all the staff were very friendly and welcoming, our room was spotlessly clean as was the rest of the hotel, our breakfast was great as was our evening meal and the waitressing staff were very accommodating and attentive.Overall we were extremely pleased with our choice of hotel and would look forward to a return visit in the future.

From the minute we walked through the door we were made very welcome. The room was a good size and very clean.Shower had a good flow.The food in the restaurant was a-maz-ing. The best blade of beef my husband has ever tasted and my steak was cooked exactly as I like it.Nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely be back .

Fabulous stay
We had a really nice two nights here. Food was so delicious we decided to eat here both nights although it’s not what we planned. Breakfast was also delicious and obviously cooked fresh to order. Would recommend and we would definitely return. Staff were all lovely too.

Enjoyable two day break.
Hotel is in a good position with access to some lovely walks. We had a room partialy overlooking the countryside which was very quiet. Friendly helpful staff and super breakfast. Would certainly return.

Warm welcome in a beautiful location
As a treat to myself my overnight stay was everything I could have wished for. A comfortable room with a fantastic view, delicious dinner and breakfast. Staff were friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Only things that might be a problem for some would be access to the rooms - tired looking narrow corridors and stairs and no lift so difficult if you have mobility limitations. Having my said that those things are largely structural and didn’t detract from my stay.

Just spent 2 nights at the Cullen Bay Hotel, we stayed in Room6, nice spacious room with lovely sea views. All staff very friendly. Food was excellent. Highly recommend, will definitely stay again.

Stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed our stay here. There is the opportunity to walk along the old railway line into Cullen and around the town. The breakfasts and evening meals were excellent.

First visit to this coast , the hotel is perfectly situated for the exploring the area.Very friendly welcome and the bedroom had a magnificent view over the bay . A good variety on the menu plus a specials menu.Every member of staff were very friendly and efficient.

Short stay
We've stayed at the Cullen Bay before but it was 45 years ago so it was difficult to compare. As for this time we were more than happy with our little break. This 100 years old hotel has fabulous views but is enhanced by it's friendly and welcoming staff who could not do enough for you. Especially Katlin, who is a star and one of the hotels greatest assets.

Booked a couple of nights to celebrate my wife's birthday.Had driven past on many occasions but never before stopped.Lovely sea views from the bedroom and from the resturant.All the staff were very polite, helpful and attentive, a rarity these days.Great selection of breakfast dishes and the restaurant menu second to none.

The hotel is in wonderful location - amazing views over Cullen Bay. The service in the hotel was excellent and all the staff are very friendly and attentive as well as being efficient. The hotel itself is quite tired and the bathroom in particular needs updated but all in all we had a lovely stay.

What a great place
A one-night stay at the Cullen Bay Hotel to keep an appointment in Cullen. It's a great wee hotel in an absolutely commanding position overlooking the sea. All the staff I met were helpful and professional. The place looks well maintained and my room (1) was well appointed and cosy. Dinner was good - order the brownie skillet if you get a chance - but I can't comment on breakfast as I just wasn't hungry after the night before. I'd definitely stay there again.

Very happy stay
Chose this hotel as close to village where friends we hadn’t seen for years were staying. We didn’t expect too much but were very pleasantly surprised. The hotel sits in a spectacular position overlooking the Moray Firth.We booked too late to get a sea view room but the views from the dining room are mesmerising and there is a lovely coastal walk along to Cullen.The rooms are clean and have everything you need, the staff are lovely and very helpful and the food is excellent. Huge helpings too.And very important, the coffee is good. Caitlin makes the best cappuccinos and espressos……

The hotel was very nice and comfortable bed with lovely big shower.The staff were also very helpful as I am ñot so fit nowadays.THe only thing that would be helpful would be more rails for stairs as there was 2 steps before my room which I found I could have done with something to hold on to, but apart from that food and everything was great.

Enjoyable Breakaway
Lovely clean, relaxed friendly surroundings. Got the opportunity to recharge our batteries. Excellent food & waitress service. Must recommend the haggis, neep & tattie croquettes with peppercorn sauce as a meal starter & the scrambled egg with fresh salmon for breakfast. Beautiful & light to start your day.Gorgeous natural scenery. Only complaint was the noise from other residents shower pump but that wouldn't stop us staying again.

Birthday Treat
We have an amazing evening at the hotel to celebrate Tom's 60th Birthday, the room was excellent and we were able to have our dog Bella stay with us, the evening meal was wonderful, staff excellent.The only down fall was my full Scottish breakfast, the sausage and bacon was hard, could not cut into the sausage, the only thing that was nice was the mushrooms, toast and Jam, Tom enjoyed his scrambled eggs and smoked salmon, but apart from that it was a wonderful stay and if we are in the area again will book again.

Stayed here on busy weekend for my own work. Hotel was spotlessly clean, and in a lively location. It’s the staff here that are the jewel in the crown though. Very attentive, kind and efficient on what looked like a very busy weekend for them. I will absolutely stay here again.

Great location for Morayshire Coast North
Fantastic sea view along Cullen coastline.Footpath opposite to walk to Cullen along seafront.Lovely staff, especially young Jessica in restaurant.Rooms very clean.Food good and reasonably priced.This is a refurbished very old hotel but been done to a very good standard.Only suggestion, car park exit is on a very bad bend in road, could be better to open an exit at top end of car park on safety grounds.

Lovely Hotel
Spent a night here in June 24 wonderful location. Was welcomed with a friendly smile and very hospitable welcome. Room was fantastic and clean and high standard. Dined in restaurant and had a hearty breakfast. All hotel staff very professional and engaging full marks to all will definitely recommend to all and look forward to a return visit in the future.

An amazing few days in a beautiful area
Having only passed through Cullen on a couple of occasions over the last twenty years we decided to do a toe in the water stay, picking the Cullen Bay Hotel. From the moment we arrived we felt welcome, with a lovely relaxed atmosphere throughout the hotel. Our room had a spectacular sea view with a comfy bed and immaculate ensuite with a great shower. We dined in the hotel on both evenings - the food was perfect. I even tried the Cullen Skink and was surprised how much I liked it. Breakfasts were table service as well, and certainly filled us for the day. Cullen has plenty of walks which should keep most outdoor people happy, with lovely sandy beaches, a golf course and a coastal path. We only stayed two nights on this occasion but we will be back for longer next time. The staff were lovely, the accommodation perfect and the food incredible - all a credit to Cullen Bay Hotel!

Comfy room with exceptional views!
Very cosy room with great shower, comfortable bed and wonderful view of the sea. Delicious breakfast and dinner and again the views of the sea were worth staying here for. Perfect location for the beach!

Relaxing break, but hotel needed upgrading
On arrival at the hotel we noticed that it was externally down at heel, and the paintwork definitely needed urgent attention.The girl at reception was very welcomingWe were in room8 and had a lovely sea view, a comfortable bed,two chairs and a settee.The room was clean the bedding and towels were also clean.The ensuite was okay but the cabinet under the sink,which housed the extra towels , internally the cabinet looked like a young child had painted it.The shower was exactly like the one we have at home and performed very well.Unfortunately when my wife used it on first morning,it leaked badly on to the floor and we had to inform reception.We noticed that the flooding had been wiped up on our return.The second morning we had the same problem and again I contacted reception and it was dried up and on our final morning the leak persisted and we tried to mop it up with a towel.I again reported the matter.The room TV had a good picture but the sound was distorted and difficult to hearOn a positive note the breakfast was great as was the dinner we had on our first night.All staff were helpful and welcoming

Wonderful
The hotel is top notch , the food is top grade and all the staff are very friendly and helpful. The only problem for us , due to immobility was the stairs but on the whole we managed .Thank you for a great stay and we hope to visit again , we certainly recommend the hotel to family and friends

Golf break
This was our first time in this part of Scotland and what an eye opener.The area itself was lovely,the golf courses excellent and the people we met were welcoming and very helpful.The hotel itself was excellent,our room spacious and clean with a nice big bed and a great vantage point out to sea.The food was great and a good choice on the menu and the staff first class.We will be back andhopefully soon.

Lovely trip to Cullen
We found the hotel staff to be helpful and courteous. The room was spacious and clean with a large bathroom. Food at Cullen Bay Hotel was excellent. The area around Cullen is really interesting and we would go again.

Very good back in my favourite room no 7 with a bath, which I need for personal reasons.
Evening meals good, shared with Valerie Rose as usual. Callum was very attentive at breakfast, with second morning he had pre empted my preferences. My thanks to him. On our arrival and departure thanks for staff for help with our bag we look forward to our next visit.

Lovey hotel with an amazing seaview, lots of painting has been done rooms and communal ares have had a new coat of paint and are looking really nice . Management and staff are friendly and accommodating. Dogs are welcome here. This is our second visit here and will definitely be going back.

Great dog friendly hotel
This is the second year in a row we have stayed at this hotel. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was well kept and the room was clean and comfortable especially set aside for those accompanied by their dogs. I was given a key for the back door just incase our dog needed the toilet through the night. Jasper was delighted with the sausages the chef made him especially for his breakfast. We will go again very soon

Excellent value for money
For a three star budget hotel I thought the Cullen Bay was excellent value in every way. The bed was very comfortable, storage ample, veiw of the sea great, food very good indeed.You cant expect a luxury experience at budget prices, but the decor, comfort, and food were all more than adequate and I had a very pleasant stay, and would not hesitate to return or recomend to others.The hotel has lots of parking, and it is easy to walk from the hotel to the beach from where you can start a very pleasant walk all along the coast, or down to Cullen village.There is no lift as far as I am aware, but I am sure help to carry up luggage would be available to anyone who needed it.Try and get a room with a Sea Veiw as that is what this hotel is all about.

Relaxing Short Stay
Visiting the North East to see family booked to stay at the Cullen Bay as it was dog friendly and near the sea.We were there for 4 nights. We arrived early evening on Sunday and right for the first minute we loved the place.Staff were so welcoming and friendly to all of us.Couldn’t do enough to help us and make us feel welcome.We stayed in Room 3 which was perfect for us and our two dogs. Spacious room and great bathroom.We had both breakfast and dinner each day and we had our own table in the back of the dining room which gave us a lovely view out to sea, but also kept our dogs away from the other diners. Food was excellent, my wife is gluten free and they catered excellently for her.All in all we had a lovely stay here.I have to say every member of staff was lovely, so helpful, attentive and friendly.This is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in, staff, location, food, environment. We are already planning our next visit in October. Thank you.

I’ve stayed at the Cullen bay hotel a few times and as always made very welcome,the food is fabulousWon’t hesitate to stay again when I’m back in the area

Excellent Hotel
Arrived on Saturday afternoon and had a drink with some relatives and then enjoyed an evening meal ourselves. On Sunday morning had an excellent breakfast followed by a lovely walk around the bay. The hotel was warm and welcoming and the staff were all marvellous. We'll be back!

Booked a twin room in line with work allowance.Arrived looked lovley staff really nice. Room and bathroom was very tired. really hot. Was able to get the 1 small window open and turn down the rads.Room was very spacious. Showerw was loud i was a bit apprihensive as no pressure from the sink but actully worked well.Used hotel for food as middle of nowhere. view from the resurant was really nice, so was the service. Stop service food at 8pm so can be a bit of a rush to get in on the return from work location but was able to get in just before close each evening. Food however was disappointing. No flavour, tried 3 different meals all lacked flavour. would have gone elsewhere if i could.

Very enjoyable
The view from our room was exceptional, could just have sat there watching the sea. The staff were very good as was the food, I would recommend this friendly hotel to anyone.

Wonderful view on the sea
My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights. The view of the golf course and the sea is spectacular, even from the room! The dinner was delicious - Cullen Skink and lamb shank. Also very good breakfast. The room, wardrobe and bathroom are big enough and very well equipped. Towel rail and toilet paper holder in need of repair, but these are just trifles.

Easter Weekend Break
My wife and I had a nice and relaxing stay and the views from room 8 across the golf course and the Moray Firth were great. The staff were friendly and looked after us in a professional manner. We can only highly recommend that you book to stay at the Cullen Bay Hotel.

An impromptu stop over in Cullen , gave us the opportunity to stay in this lovely property.Everything was perfect. We had a delicious meal in the restaurant, the room was very comfortable and clean, the bathroom spacious. Last but not least the staff were very helpful, accommodating and attentive.Would definitely recommend.

A very enjoyable stay where there was a warm welcome , a cosy room with a great view. Super comfy bed and thick snowy white towels and robesin the shower room. The staff were lovely. Attentive and friendly. The food was delicious, freshly cooked and great portions. We had dinner and breakfast, faultless.

We stayed at the Cullen Bay Hotel for one night and the service was excellent . Lovely rooms, good food and staff exceptionally friendly and went out of their way to please us . My husband and I stayed for 1 night at the hotel.We stayed in the turret room .Thats room 12.Suberb view from there only problem weather wasn’t to good.Rain.Room very clean bed lovely and soft super shower.Meal was lovely at night also.Staff very friendly and made us feel welcome.Think we will go back in summer as weather will be better.

We spent a lovely 4 nights here. The hotel was clean, bright and comfortable, if a little cold. The food was amazing with fresh top quality ingredients andcooked to a high standard. Thestaff were friendly andaccommodating. The location,right opposite the sea, was stunning.

One Night Visit to Cullen Bay Hotel
Received a very warm welcome from the receptionist with the rest of the staff in the lounge bar and restaurant very attentive and polite. For our evening meal we chose the festive menu which was and excellent choice with the turkey and trimmings absolutely delicious and both sweet choices of Xmas pudding and chocolate orange mousse to die for. The breakfast was equally as good.The only down side was the temperature in the dining room which was pretty cold.

Sorry we took so long to leave the review but we have been travelling quite a lot this year from the warm Turkish coastal oceans surrounding La Blanche Hotel Island Resort in 30-40 degrees every day then to cooler Edinburgh, then Nairn, then the cold oceans views of Cullen. My wife thoroughly enjoyed the northern scenes of grand family style hotels and coastal fishing villages which delighted my wife with her best Votes tally to date on her social media, to the plentiful plates of food in your restaurant and the dish called Cullen Skink which we were unable to try on our visit. The staff were nice and generally all was fine. Will try to send you some info for you to enjoy to your email address. Sorry I had to keep this info from you at the time but often people are different when they learn about my background in the entertainment. Love this hotel
We have stayed here before and appreciate the fact that we can take our dog with us. We had a comfy room with a sea view, win, win!! The food at breakfast and dinner each night was superb, everything was delicious, great quality and perfectly cooked. Great portions too.All the staff are the best, really friendly and nothing is any bother. There is nothing else we could ask for in a hotel and we will definitely be back.

Good hotel, clean and comfortable with really great staff. We ate in for each of the three nights we stayed and were very satisfied with both quality and quantity - excellent Cullen Skink as you would expect in Cullen.Great views from the Dining Room and good walks from the door. Plenty of choice for whisky lovers, but a few bottled ales from a local brewery would make in perfect.

Lovely hotel
Lovely hotel and friendly welcoming staff .The mattress could do with replacing in room 2 as could feel all the springs , the rooms could do with some maintenance, TV very small and noticed wallpaper coming off . The bedroom doors could do with a paint .Overall would stay again as great position overlooking the sea .

In our drive through Scotland, the Cullen Bay Hotel offered a great stopping point.The staff was especially friendly, a wonderful restaurant and comfortable bar.The rooms were very comfortable and offered all we needed.For visiting distilleries in Speyside, Cullen Bay is centrally located - easing access to many.On our next trip to Speyside, we'll repeat our visit to the Cullen Bay Hotel.

Enjoyable Weekend Stay
We had a group of 20 staying for a dancing weekend. Everyone had a great time in spite of a storm throughout the whole of Saturday. We had lots of good feedback on the meals, and the hotel staff were accommodating and made us feel very welcome. I look forward to returning for another visit.

We were a group of friends celebrating 60th birthdays and saying goodbye to a much loved pal who's moving south. We'd an absolute blast and had one lovely room where we congregated for pre dinner drinks. We'd one evening meal which was lovely and the staff were very welcoming and accommodating.

My first time in this hotel and I was impressed by how friendly the staff were. My bedroom was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Lovely breakfast room and dining room with great food to match. Cullen Skink is a real winner here and I would recommend it if you choose to visit. The hotel sits on a hill on the outskirts of Cullen with fantastic views of the beach, golf course and village.

I stayed at the Cullen Bay Hotel for two nights whilst attending a funeral. The staff could not have been more helpful or kinder. Everything was clean, efficient and above all friendly and welcoming. A lovely place to stay. With views over the bay that make you glad to be alive.

Very comfortable and enjoyable stay
The staff were All excellent friendly, helpful and with a sense of humour.The room was clean and comfortable with a sea view. The food was excellent the breakfast great with plenty of choice and variety.The only suggestion I would make that perhaps a grab rail in the shower would have been more reassuring being on the wrong side of 70 and finding it a little slippery even with the mat. We had a lovely time and Thankyou for making our stay so pleasurable.

Once again we have enjoyed a week long stay and again experienced the warm welcoming reception at this hotel.The staff are unfailingly friendly and the service is of the highest quality.The breakfast menu is generous and always well served and individualized when requested.The dining room is open for lunch and dinner and again provides ample variety of options and is well cooked and presented. Desserts are a must!!

This was my third stay at Cullen Bay, a last-minute booking for a visit to family. As always, the staff were helpful and friendly and the room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful and served with a lovely sea view. Family joined me for dinner on my last night this time and the food was delicious and the service great.

This hotel is across the street from the beach and walking distance to town and the bow fiddle rock. It was quiet, the bed was comfortable, it was unseasonably warm so room was a little stuffy even with the window open, but not the hotel’s faultThe food was delicious. We got Cullen skink soup and sticky toffee pudding…. Twice….. It was THAT GOOD!If definitely recommend staying here!

Only there for one night (with dog). Phoned to book and very easy to deal with. Got a warm welcome on arrival. Didn't stay for dinner but breakfast was fantastic - nicest eggs and smoked salmon I have had in a long time and well presented. Having the dog was no problem either. Enjoyed the stay.

Lovely clean and well appointed room with a sofa, table with chairs in the bay window which had a great view of the sea and so handy for the laptop.Shower over bath had a good spray and lovley shower gel etc.Staff all very helpful and friendly.Great for being able to get a path to walk along the beach and not too far out of Cullen to get shops, ice cream (among the best I have tasted) etc.

I spent the weekend here and had such a lovely time.I was sad to leave.The food was amazing and i wish i could of stayed longer to try everything on the menu.Lovely friendly helpful staff and nothing was to much trouble.I felt so at home here and cant wait to come back.I also really enjoyed the beautiful views.

The hotel is pretty from the outside, and lovely and calm inside. The staff are exceptionally friendly and down to earth. They made my mum and I feel very welcome. The food is tasty, and the view from the dining room is gorgeous. Dog friendly too, which is a massive bonus.

Great location and friendly staff
Stayed for three nights. Room was clean and had everything we needed. Tried the restaurant the first evening and ended up eating there every evening - food was excellent, albeit a relatively limited range on the menu, and the food came quickly. The view from the restaurant is stunning. The young staff were excellent, very attentive and nothing was too much bother. Great location for walking (or cycling) across the golf course to the beach or into Cullen or Portnockie - via the paths that are directly across the road from the hotel.

Perfect location to enjoy views of the wonderful beach at Cullen and the path to the town over the old railway line and viaduct is well surfaced and has tremendous views.Food very good and staff well trained and friendly.Great advert for Scottish hospitality

Stayed for 4 nights and couldn’t fault anything, the view from the room was spectacular looking out over the golf course and the sea. We ate in hotel for 2 of the 4 nights and the food was amazing.Staff were more than helpful especially Calum, nothing was to much trouble, highly recommend a stay here for anyone especially if you’re a golfer.

Had a fantastic stay. Room was clean and fresh. Dinner food excellent (esp. blade of beef!?). Can’t beat the view looking over the bay, but what made our stay so great was the staff! They were all so warm, kind and helpful. Special mention to Caitlin, Samuel and Gail - thank you so much for your kindness and fun too! A wee mention to Lesley too for her taste in music! Thank you for a great time, would definitely recommend.

Fantastic stay
I booked an overnight stay to celebrate my husband’s big birthday. Staff greeted him with ‘happy birthday’ and a birthday banner was up, next to our table in the restaurant. Very friendly and attentive staff. Stunning views from our bedroom and the restaurant and breakfast room. Very clean. Excellent food and speedy service. Great location. Short walk to the pretty village of Cullen and the beach.

My sister and I recently spent an enjoyable week at CULLEN BAY HOTEL.The hotel is in a lovely setting, with fantastic views of the sea. The inside is spacious, and the car park is large. Delightful
Lovely, welcoming staff. Lots of young people who actually knew what they were doing and not standing in groups chatting unlike many places we have been. Room was lovely and peaceful, comfy bed and super pillows! Shame both chests of drawers were faulty - this maybe could be fixed by a handy man for a small amount of money? … the carpet is also frayed as you come into the room (11) but that did not affect our stay at all.The food was absolutely superb - congrats to the kitchen team as we enjoyed every morsel at dinner and breakfast.I believe Rena is the manager /owner and I have to say thank you for a lovely stay - we will be back!

Wonderful Stay, culinaric Highlight, a dream came true
A couple of years ago I came across the Cullen Bay Hotel and it‘s headchef Ian Watson in a german TV show „Kitchen impossible“, and was immediately interested. My expectations were fully met, the service was great, the Cullen skink was absolutely incredible and the view lovely. Couldn‘t reccomend visiting more !!!

We had an enjoyable two day stay at the Cullen Bay. Fantastic sea view room with views over the golf course and the beautiful beach which added to the relaxed atmosphere. We were met with a warm welcome from a cheery receptionist and this was continued by all the staff, especially Caitlin. The food and choice of menu was excellent. Only one regret, we only booked for two nights! But we will be back!

Friendly and comfortable stay
The hotel is situated on a busy road, but I still slept well. It is worth paying extra for a beautiful view of Cullen Bay and its lovely beach which is just across the busy road. Tasty food and excellent service by staff who accommodated every request.

Well looked after
The staff could not have been more friendly and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. We had our dog with us and she too was pampered and made very welcome. She was even given her own breakfast of sausages and a bowl of water. The room was warm and looked out over a wild and wintry sea. My only slight criticism would be that the room was a little on the small size for the two of us and the dog. But it was clean and comfortable. Overall a very pleasant stay and we would stay there again.

Great Location and staff
This Hotel is in a great location between Buckie and Cullen, with amazing views of the bay. Very comfortable and great value for the money.The staff are lovely and very helpful. The food is very nice and the breakfast perfectly cooked. The rooms are simple but comfortable.

We had a great stay at the star view warm room at Cullen Bay Hotel with an excellent friendly service and nice meals in the restaurant too. Our twoPuppy dogs love the facilities too

We had an amazing time, the room was fantastic with a view of the sea as you sat in bed. Lovely and clean. All the staff were extra friendly and helpful. We also had an amazing evening meal and great breakfast. We will definitely be back.

We stayed in the turret room (no 12) and everything was lovely.We enjoyed the view from the room and found all the staff to be excellent.We ate in the restaurant both nights and the food was also very good.We would definitely recommend.

Well up to standard
We have used the Cullen Bay Hotel for many years and I am pleased to trport that they have maintained their excellent standards both in terms of accommodation and dining.

Last minute October getaway
The staff were very welcoming and the service was excellent.Both evening meal and breakfast was very good and catered for my gluten free needs very well.The hotel was clean and tidy for an old hotel.

I stayed in the Turret Room and the views are fabulous. The room is very comfortable and the staff very friendly. Too late, I realised I could have taken my dog, as the hotel is dog friendly...not dog tolerant.I will be back with my boy.

Good hotel with stunning views
Overall, it was a comfortable stay in a nice hotel. The food was good at both dinner and breakfast and the bar had a relaxing ambience with a good selection of whisky. Best of all was the amazing views of the coastline.

A Great Find on the Moray Coast
We were walking part of the Moray Coast and the Cullen Bay Hotel was an ideal place to stay. It has a grand position overlooking a golf course and the sea. Our room at the back had a fine view of the open countryside.We found it very comfortable with the added luxury of a couch in the room!The staff were all welcoming, friendly ,helpful and it was encouraging to note they were all Scottish!The food , locally sourced,was excellent and we loved the fresh fish.We enjoyed our stay and will certainly recommend this hotel to others.

Lovely hotel in a great location
We stayed in the hotel for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed the visit. We received a warm welcome and all staff were pleasant and helpful, even offering advice as to what to see in the area, which is delightful.The rooms were clean and comfortable,Breakfast was very tasty and the evening menu was varied and tempting. The "Smoked Haddock Stack" was a particular highlight!Overall, we thought the hotel was excellent and had a most enjoyable holiday. If in the area, we would definitely stay there again.

Do not understand question!
Our room was clean and comfortable, although the mismatched throw on the bed spoilt the aesthetics of the room a little. Superb views. We enjoyed an excellent dinner and a very good breakfast. We will certainly stay there again.

Lovelyhotel in Cullen
Enjoyed a two nights stay, room was lovely decorated with a large comfortable bed, very spacious shower and a great sea view. Breakfast was delicious and staff very friendly. Had lunch with friends who were staying near,and their dog was made very welcome too, with water and biscuits on hand.will visit again thats for sure.

We were in the area to golf when we stayed at Cullen Bay. The room was very comfortable with fantastic views of the sea/ golf course. Dinner at night had a good choice and was delicious.

Superbly situated hotel close to the lovely town of Cullen. Great views over the golf course to sea. Rooms were clean tidy and well furnished. Bar and dining room were comfortable and the staff were excellent. Food was very good quality and prices reasonable.

Stayed for a night with my parents. From the moment we walked in we were impressed by the friendliness & helpfulness of the staff. My room was clean & comfortable with everything I needed for my stay. Dinner was tasty and the views from the dining room are fabulous.

Lesley, Rena, the Chef and all the staff took very good care of us for our Wedding. We would highly recommend the venue if you are thinking of having your wedding (or just staying over). The turret room was lovely, and a perfect place to spend our first night and husband and wife.

Positive Hospitality and lovely location
Situated overlooking Cullen Bay, the view is fantastic and whilst the fog each morning tried to obscure this, the sun came through with great effect. Wonderful part of our stay. The hotel, although slightly worn, had a certain charm. Staff were pleasant and friendly, dining great (especially the Cullen Skink). The room, again slightly tired, was cosy, clean and comfortable. The outdoor seating was a must as we were lucky enough to stay in something of a unusual but hot, sunny spell. Would definitely come back to eat or stay.

We had a lovely and welcoming overnight stay at the Cullen Bay hotel. The room was clean and fresh. Breakfast was cooked to order and we enjoyed it very much, as did our dog who was well looked after with a sausage. We would definitely stay again.

Fabulous!
The hotel has wonderful views over Cullen bay with dolphins leaping as we enjoyed breakfast before we rushed to the beach- a 3 minute walk across the golf course path. Staff and food all excellent. The perfect holiday experience and we will be back. Thanks to all staff for superb stay.

Our daughter’s wedding at Cullen Bay Hotel was the perfect day. The hotel was not only the wonderfulsetting with the beach as the backdrop but the meal was commented on by many guests as the best ‘blade of beef’ they have ever tasted. The presentation was impeccableand all the staff could not have been been more helpful and organised throughout.Huge thanks to all and I cannot recommend Cullen Bay for the perfect wedding highly enough. Lovely stay at the Cullen Bay Hotel . It was brilliant to find a dog friendly hotel and this was very much the case … especially the sausages at breakfast time !Fabulous location, spotlessly clean room and large bathroom , and super friendly staff plus really good food .Thoroughly recommend !

What a fantastic Stay
What a most welcoming hotel with the most helpful, courteous, and obliging local staff.The hotel and public rooms provide stunning sea views, and with a short walk over two holes of the golf course, one is on the sand dunes bordering one of the finest golden sand beaches in Scotland.The hotel is beautifully furnished and well decorated, and most importantly, is ultra clean!The kitchen offers a wide selection of dishes, beautifully prepared and presented, with a natural leaning towards seafood. I believe their ‘Signature Dish’ is Cullen Skink, served as a starter and/or a main! It is to die for!

Warm and welcoming.
From before completing the booking to the minute I left, all of the staff were extremely helpful, informative and friendly. Special shout out to the reception staff on Friday and Saturday.The room was clean and comfortable with TV (including access to Netflix, Amazon Prime and regular TV).The breakfast on both days of stay was hot, fresh and tasty and the Cullen Skink I was served early evening was great.Thank you to all staff.

Just what I needed
This was my second stay at the Cullen Bay. I had a room with a sea view and a walk-in shower, which was exactly what I wanted. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfasts were very good. I didn’t eat in the hotel in the evenings so can’t comment on the food otherwise.The setting is lovely with easy access to the walkway along the old railway line and across the golf course to the beach. I was tempted to stay longer and would certainly stay there again.

Cullen Bay Hotel
Well furnished and in a great position, friendly and efficient staff, excellent food with a good menu choice.Our only gripe was that there was no lift to bedrooms which we would have expected in a hotel of this caliber, and we were not the only ones who struggled with the stairs.

Friendly efficient service
Enjoyed a lovely couple of days at the hotel. We booked a deluxe double sea view room and were not disappointed with the view, straight over the golf course to the beach beyond.We ate at the hotel both evenings and we were accommodated in the bar so that we did not have to leave our dog in the car while we ate. This was especially appreciated as it would have been very hot for her. We were also allowedto take her into a separate area at breakfast time. Again this was good; she was even given a sausage as she was not eating her own food. A lovely unexpected touch.Would recommend a stay, the views are great, the food very nice and plentiful and the staff are excellent.

Enjoyable one night stay.
This is our second stay. It is convenient for visiting our son and his family.It is dog friendly and we like getting breakfast along with our furry friend.Our room was cleanand comfortable. The staff were efficient and helpful.

A very nice 2 night stay during our tour down the east coast of Scotland. Hotel had lovely sea views, comfortable rooms and a good bar menu. Breakfast was also good. Hotel was very clean and staff friendly and professional. Would stay there again if in the area.

Fantastic sea view
Stayed for a week. The staff were very friendly and seemed keen to make our stay as pleasant as possible. The breakfast was good with choices suitable for vegetarians. The staff were happy to swap around items from the menu to satisfy our tastes e.g. we requested baked beans instead of tomatoes on the breakfast and were met with a cheery ''no problem''. We had a couple of evening meals in the restaurant and they were of a good standard and enjoyable. We had a dog with us and were made to feel very welcome and all staff made a fuss of the dog.I do feel that some of the baked products particular to the local area should have been available at breakfast such as butteries and softies. The interior of the hotel is looking a little tired and needs updating. Soft closing toilet seats would be good as would coving around the joins betwen the walls and ceilings.The hotel is light and airy but is let down by the very dark furniture in the dining room and breakfast area. It is in a great position with wonderful sea views and plenty of car parking. All things considered we would happily stay there again.

We stayed three nights in the hotel. Seaview from our room was fantastic, room was clean and comfortable with tea, coffee etc. Staff from arrival to departure were very friendly and helpful, service was excellent and speedy.Food was excellent served with a smile and good use of local ingredients.Would definately stay again.

Holiday break
The location of the hotel is ideally situated. We had an excellent room with superb views across the golf course and Cullen bay. The staff were verypleasant and helpful and we enjoyed all our meals there. The hotel is to be recommended to anyone considering a holiday break in Cullen.

Sadly we only stayed for 1 night!Greeting we received when we arrived was super welcoming, room was relatively small (what I booked) but was more than adequately equipped with an excellent shower while the bar and restaurant offerings we’re well above expectation. The food was fantastic - best Cullen skink I’ve had (and I have it a lot!) to start and smoked haddock with a poached egg for main.We will be back!Note - no relevance to the above review, I stupidly left an item at the hotel. The hotel not only returned it via the postage bag I sent but provided regular updates with progress. My gratitude for this has had no bearing on my comments about this hotel but I thought it worthy a mention.

A super short break
Our stay at The Cullen Bay Hotel was just wonderful. The staff were lovely - nothing was too much trouble. You sit and eat breakfast and dinner in rooms facing the bay and we were lucky enough to see dolphins one morning. Could not recommend this hotel highly enough!

It was awesome! Our host was gracious, respectful and accommodating. The food was exemplary. The Cullen skink was the best we’ve had. It was filled with lots of smoked fish and lovely chucks of potatoes. It tasted great! Highly recommend.

Lovely hotel, a 10 min walk from Cullen along the beach path. Nice and bright and tidy inside. You can eat and drink while looking out at the beautiful sea view. Big free car park too.

My wife and I stayed at the hotel to attend a family function in nearby Portsoy. Couldn't really fault it. Nice room with a lovely view across the golf course and out to sea. Our evening meal was very nice and breakfast equally as good. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and did all they could to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. Thbaks very much.

I was so well looked after it was almost like being at home. I was there principally as a wedding guest but stayed on for a few days afterwards. The standard of cleanliness is outstanding and the quality of the food amazing, even although the portions are on the large side. I enjoyed my one night at the hotel, I was made most welcome, the staff are friendly & helpful. The facilities were good, the like others have said if some money was spent on the place it could be made really special. My dog with me and there are no problems looking after him while I was there. The food was good without being outstanding. Though I’m no expert on Cullen Skink, I did enjoy it. I had the most fantastic walk with my dog in the morning around the bay and then beyond, it was lovely walking by the golfers and watching. Overall a good experience and I hope to return one day.

Stunning location in which to chill
Stunning stunning locationSome of the friendliest and most helpful staff I have encountered. If you are looking to chill and escape this is for you.Cullen itself is a gem and deserves to be busier through the week. That is not the fault of Cullen.Best poached egg breakfast. Two days in a row the eggs for breakfast were spot on.If I had a suggestion for improvement it would be a lighter touch on the menu. Wonderful
Even before arrival the staff were supportive and welcoming. We were a cycling duo and route had not gone quite to plan! Arrived late evening and tired but we're welcomed and assisted with bikes and luggage.Rooms were clean and comfortable especially the bed. Only one pillow on bed, this suits me and I have no doubt another pillow would have been available if required.After an excellent breakfast and more assistance and advice from the marvelous staff at the hotel we set off on the next leg of our journey.Thank you all for a wonderful stay.

Where do I begin. The hotel is situated in a stunning position with a view over the entire bay. The turret room was everything I had hoped for. Rooms were clean, bed super comfy. Walls are a bit thin (noisy neighbours) The food was delicious, the staff are fantastic, super helpful, kind and friendly. Some sort of entertainment at night would good, even if it was a dartboard, pool table or even a deck of cards. But other than that, I have nothing negative to say. Loved our stay, we will be back.

Extremely comfortable, excellent service and wonderful location.
I was given a warm and friendly welcome upon arrival and the good service continued thereon, making a weary traveller very relaxed and happy. The food is first class with an unparalleled view to the Moray Firth. My room was sea facing from which both sunrise and sunset are visible. This hotel offers excellent value and I thoroughly recommend. It is also ideally located to explore the entire Moray Coast. Remember to bring your binoculars!

My favourite hotel in Cullen
I love this hotel and have stayed here multiple times. The views are spectacular and the rooms beautifully decorated, comfortable and clean. The food is amazing and the staff are friendly and welcoming. I will most certainly be returning.

Excellent stay
Great location, comfortable rooms, good food - but most importantly, lovely staff. There must be a really good management system in place, as there was a very nice atmosphere - everyone very pleasant and helpful. Also, everyone seemed to be able to do anything - there was no 'oh the person who deals with that isn't here' or 'just wait till I find out' - it all just happens!Choice of menu at breakfast and dinner really good, and the service is brilliant - no waiting around for ages for meals to arrive. This isn't at the expense of quality either - fresh produce and much of it home made.Thoroughly recommend a stay here - though it would be a good idea to have one of these road mirrors opposite the end of the drive - if you're turning right, it's a bit of a scary manoeuvre!

Our first time in the area; by far the best location for us and especially so for our dogs who were treated very well by the staff. We were on a DBB package and this was excellent too.Our room was a deluxe room (6) and had great space for us and definitely our dogs, Hamish & Murdo. The view we had everyday, looking out over the old railway line and golf course was something to relish.Nothing was too much trouble for the staff; a big thank you, and especially to the lady with the short hair. We never knew your name or saw your face behind the mask, but your local knowledge/conversation stood us in good stead as we visited almost everywhere you recommended for us & our dogs.Would we recommend - definitely!Would we return - not if, just when!Thank you

The turret room. Cullen Bay hotel
We spent two nights here and were delighted with our room, the friendliest of the staff and the quality of the food.Some parts of the hotel however do need a little TLC especially the outside wall which faces visitors coming in to Cullen from the east ie Elgin.However we would return and would recommend it to friends.Ps.My only fault was the pillow which was rather lumpy.RegardsDorothy

Wonderful stay in Cullen
Perhaps the most important aspect was the welcome reception from Lesley on the desk and the restaurant staff who went out there way to be helpful. We love Cullen and the weather was superb for the time of the year (March 2022), so it could not have been a better weekend. The only complaint I would make was the bed in our deluxe room, I have a chronic back problem so it is always difficult for me to adjust to the bed, but this bed was very uncomfortable indeed. Compared to Premier Inn beds this double bed was not for me. Apart from the bed the food and staff were first class and we enjoyed our time there. Would certainly go back if the bed problem was resolved.

Lovely friendly place in beautiful location.
We stayed here for 2 nights with our border collie dog.All the staff were extremely helpful, and the room, drink and food were all very good value for money.We were able to eat and drink in the bar area with our dog, and could also take her to breakfast (where she was treated to a breakfast sausage from the friendly staff).We left the car at the hotel and walked into the village and beyond on the great coastal paths.Thank you, we will be back.

Quick getaway
We stayed 1 night in March prompted by the excellent weather. Room was fine and decent VFM. Clean and a great view. There is a fair bit of traffic noise however from the road at the front and that alone would make us think about returning. Otherwise all good. Staff all very friendly and breakfast was tasty and piping hot. Great spot to take advantage of the walks along the old railway line and the nearby beach.

Clean and comfortable
The hotel has a great elevated location just outside the town.The room was not large but was clean and comfortable and the bathroom had a large walk-in shower.The public areas were well kept and the cosy bar had a good selection of whiskies and other drinks.The breakfast was good and was served in the conservatory looking out over the sea.There is an off-road footpath all the way into town.

Dog Friendly
We enjoyed our stay and both our dogs were made very welcome.They were allowed to sit with us at breakfast and dinner which was lovely. We had a lovely room and the food was excellent. We will definitely return in the future.

On arrival we received a very warm welcome from very friendly staff. The room was looking over the sea and was cosy and comfortable. The breakfast was very tasty and hearty with a lovely view looking out over the Moray Firth. The bar staff were attentive and knowledgable and service was friendly and welcoming. We ate in the restaurant one of our night stays. Great selection and served piping hot from the very friendly bar person. All in all we had a lovely break and will return again soon.

Good location but starting to look like needs bit of TLC on outside
Lovely location overlooking a golf course and then sea. The hotel is a bit out of town. The bathroom was tiny but clean and the shower was a power shower which apart from the noise was good. The staff were lovely and the inside clean and tidy with good bar, dining room overlooking golf course/sea and nice rear beer garden. The outside is looking weather beaten and just needs a lick of paint and tidy up. Only choice of hotels was this or Royal Oak Hotel which was closer to the town. If you like views then choose this or if you want to be in town the Royal Oak. Simples.

Beautiful Place
The hotel is in the most delightful position with a 180 degree view over Cullen Bay, just on the outskirts of Cullen village.If you can book a sea view room, take it. It's well worth the extra.The rooms are neutrally decorated and homely and the beds are soooooo comfortable.Nice clean en-suite.The food is very good and the staff all seem to really care that you enjoy your stay.Lovely.Wish I could have stayed longer.

We really enjoyed our 2 night stay at this hotel, our room was very clean and comfortable, the breakfast was really good, my only criticism would be there was a lack of vegetarian options, having said that what we did have was lovely. I found all the staff to be extremely helpful and friendly, they couldn’t do enough for you. We had our dog with us and she couldn’t have been more welcome. We will definitely be back and will be recommending to family and friends. Fabulous location, with stunning views from the hotel.

Lovely hotel, amazing views, great staff
Had a golfing weekend at Cullen the staff were so friendly and helpful. We had a lovely meal at night to celebrate a birthday and they couldn’t do enough to make our stay a good one. The breakfast was also very good and eaten overlooking a beautiful view of the sea. Recently refurbished the rooms were excellent value for money. Will be back.

Lovely hotel in a superb location
Hotel was lovely as were the staff, they were very welcoming to both us and our dog. Food was impressively good and the bar area is a lovely area to sit and relax. Again the bar area is dog friendly and you can chose to dine there with your dog if you want to. The views are spectacular and it’s a 5 minute walk over the road and down into the stunning beach. We will definitely be back soon

Hidden Gem
Just back from a weekend at this lovely hotel was a family birthday weekend played golf on the course right across the road from the Hotel on Saturday a little Gem if a Golf Course.Had a great family meal in the evening excellent food and the breakfast one of the best we have had for many a year and the staff were s nice & friendly and to top it all we had a sea view & overlooking the golf course we will definitely be back.

A blissful break by the beach
We thoroughly enjoyed our all too brief weekend at the Cullen Bay Hotel. The lovely staff were all very welcoming,friendly and accommodating. We had booked for dinner but arrived late feeling very stressed. However the kindly young man on reception immediately put us at ease. He thoughtfully had the menu waiting on our arrival so we could order a delicious meal in the nick of time before the kitchen closed. All our meals were very tasty and promptly served in hearty portions. We particularly enjoyed the fish dishes, especially the kippers, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, Cullen Skink, fish pie, monkfish scampi and fish with prodigious portions of chips. I really enjoyed the home made tartare sauce too. We loved the Turret room with its panoramic views. The cosy bath robes were a real treat and like the powerful shower very welcome to come back to after a quick dip in the sea on a frosty morning. We booked the hotel for its location and were blessed to see the aurora on Saturday night. We may not be so lucky every time but all being well we hope to return as we know we’ll always enjoy a warm welcome and a comfortable stay in a beautiful seaside setting.

We had 2nights at this comfortable, welcoming hotel. the hotel has character. We had a deluxe double room , it lived up to its name, very comfy bed. The sea view is wonderful. Good choice for evening meals , tasty and well presented, breakfast likewise. The staff Jude and Calum , both doing a great job, they were pleasant, friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay.

Pleasant Stay
Although it was early December and cold weather we received a very warm welcome.We had sea view double room which was very comfortable. Good service and good food. We had dinner in the two night as well as the usual breakfast. Service and kitchen staff were very helpful in catering for my wife's requirement for gluten free meals. Overall an enjoyable stay - will be back.

A lovely stay
Recently returned from a four night stay at the hotel. Staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a lovely stay. We happened to be in the area just after a very bad storm and between one thing and another things were pretty difficult for folks who were experiencing power outs and other problems but it was "the show must go on" in the hotel.The chef delivered wonderful plates of food and the menu choices were excellent. We were lucky enough to be there to sample the festive fare which was fantastic, my husband says it's the best turkey he's ever tasted!All staff were attentive and very friendly especially the lady with the green glasses -sorry I don't have her name but you'll know who I mean when you get there - even if she changes her specs!The turret room was very comfy and the view from the bay window over to the golf course and beach is stunning - even when the wind is howling and rain batters against the glass.It is a lovely hotel to use as a base for visiting the area.

We came for a family funeral, we arrived after a ten hour car journey, worn out and emotional.Jude greeted us on arrival, made us so welcomeNothing was to much trouble , excellent front of house !!Food was fabulous, just what we needed felt like we had made new friends, by the time we left , will defo be back , rooms are pleasantand clean , bedding , towels clean and fresh . We picked the worst weekend at the Cullen hotel with the weather snow high winds but the hotel was excellent

Two days, very comfortable and above and beyond service
Very good; Despite a destructive wind, rain an snow storm which caused power failure and water damage to the breakfast room, the hotel where waiting to see my car lights coming into the car park after a day out! Theymet me with torches and made sure I was safe in my room. Power was still out in the morning butthey managed hot bacon rolls and tea or coffee on a camping stove. Well done and the best bacon roll I've had in a long time. They insisted on refunding some of the costalthough it was not their fault

Good Stay
Always enjoy Cullen Bay hotel for the views and closeness to the beach and many walks. Kippers in the morning are the best and porridge is first class. The staff were fantastic and couldn't do enough to help. Will stay again.

A Birthday Celebration
Lovely time and especially celebrating my wife’s birthday on the Friday as she loves Cullen because of her early years in Glasgow when she traveled with the mission for the beach mission down by the harbour!Thank you too for upgrading the room which we occupied about 4 years ago for a night, beautiful view!

Just great for a late November autumnal stay
Cullen is a fabulous place to see the area from - beach walks to Portknokie, cormorants, pet cemetery, castle hill, river walk, lovely architecture, walkable viaducts ......Our room had a Cullen Bay view - which was beautiful to wake up to. Good size, clean with an electric powered shower (with power!). The staff were delightful. It was great to return in the evening to a supper menu which included cullen skink and fish pie..... and a lovely house Merlot served at a perfect temperature.We own a Boutique BnB so I'd like to make the most of what is a really interesting ground floor with original 30/40's? features - the decor is a bit uninspired for the building.But visit again - oh yes!- and soon.

Well situated Hotel for every thing in Moray and Banffshire
Long established building with recent renovations internally. Pleasant decor.Rooms clean and adequately appointed. Only disappointment was the bed.....far too soft.No amenities other than lounge area.Staff were excellent and looked after us well.Drinks measures were disappointing.In Scotland it is normal to expect 1/4 Gill measures - 35ml. Not here.25ml English measures.Does not reflect Scottish hospitality well.However,the highlight was the food.The Cullen Skink was fab.No surprise they won best in class for 2015.Portions are good. If you're a hungry horse,you'll be fed well.Would happily return there.Reasonably priced too.

We spent the last week of October at Cullen Bay Hotel.We were a group of 5 adults and one child of 6yrs.We occupied 3 rooms all with a spectacular sea view.The sunrises, sunsets and views of the moon reflected in the water were amazing.Although I think the location lifts the hotel from the ordinary into the special category the relaxed atmosphere contributed to our enjoyment.Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and everyone was friendly and helpful in organising our trips out.The rooms were clean and comfortable.The food was well cooked and didn’t disappoint.We tried the seafood platter one night which was exceptional.Cullen as a holiday destination is charming.The beach is clean, the golf course is interesting and enjoyable and the people of Cullen are very friendly.There’s lots to do in the surrounding area and many temptations in the way of shopping.Sadly we didn’t see the Northern Lights, but that gives us an excuse to return to that beautiful area of Scotland and we will certainly plan at least a couple of nights at this hotel on our next tour.

We were at my partner's son's wedding. It was an ideal place, plenty of space beautiful location but what made the stay special was the staff. They were so friendly, helpful and accommodating absolutely lovely.

Lovely two night stay. Hotel staff are friendly and welcoming and food was excellent. Only downside was sea facing room has great views, but but a lot of road noise from A98, even though double glazed. If you are used to peace and quiet ask for a rear room.

Traditional hotel in a lovely setting
Stayed here for an overnight stop, and we will probably be back for a longer visit. The staff are very friendly and attentive, and the facilities were good. The hotel has plenty of parking and the views toward the sea would have been great but for the mist! The evening meals and breakfast were very tasty, and it was good to have some Cullen Skink in it's home town.

Lovely room overlooking Cullen Bay albeit the traffic noise was rather intrusive. Felt very happy with the Covid protocols in place. Staff were very pleasant. The food was wholesome and plentiful.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Room was comfortable with stunning sea view. Good was excellent especially the Cullen Skink! Walked part of the Moray Coast Trail. Only sorry we couldn't have stayed longer

Wonderful
Highly recommended. The staff are cheerful and friendly and cannot do enough for you. We were able to take our dog along too. Reception lent us a bowl for her, as we'd forgotten one! We ate in the bar so our dog could be with us (same menu as the restaurant), and had a separate breakfast room so she could accompany us to breakfast too. Our dog is getting old and she has terrible separation anxiety now, so we were immensely grateful not to have to leave her alone. The food is amazing, the desserts are a dream. The rooms are lovely. The wifi was a bit slow, but this made us read more and talk to each other more.We absolutely loved our mini break there, and will definitely be back in the future.

Despite the mattress in 2 different rooms being hard, lumpy and uncomfortable, also the showers being extremely noisy, we would like to come back, The very helpful and extremely nice staff make up for any other shortcomings of this hotel

Hotel views were magnificent. Food was delicious, staff very attentive and friendly. Hotel decor a bit tired looking but we had a wonderful stay and hope to return.

Lovely hotel with amazing view
This is a lovely hotel. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The rooms are comfortable.The view from the front of the property is outstanding. We had our dog with us. It is a huge plus when hotels allow dogs. Staff made a fuss of her which she loved.Only complaint is the noise from the showers in our room and neighbouring rooms.

Very enjoyable stay
We stayed for one night and thoroughly enjoyed it. Staff were lovely and food/accommodation excellent. We stayed in the turrett room which has amazing views of the bay. We will definitley return soon.

Exactly what we needed
Thank you for a lovely overnight stay. Our room was comfortable and clean, breakfast was very good, staff were very friendly and obliging and our little one was accommodated beautifully without any question.

My friend and I had a fabulous stay at the hotel. The staff were very friendly and professional. The room overlooked the beach and golf course, what a view! There was a wedding taking place and we never heard a thing in the room.We also ate at the hotel, the fish pie was wonderful and they catered well for my gluten free diet. Would definitely go back.

Back to Cullen Bay
Each year we do a business trip visditing sites around Scotland. Our route takes us onto the Moray Coast from Aberdeen. The Cullen Bay Hotel makes for a great place to stop and we find it comfortable and relaxing after a long days work. The food is excellent by the way.

Lovely break away
The hotel was clean, comfortable and the staff very friendly and attentive.The view from the turret room was wonderful. Breakfasts were excellent, best scrambled eggs ever, and both the dining and breakfasting room had sea views. We ordered the seafoood platter for 2 in advance and would definitely recommend it. It was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious.

44th Wedding Anniversary treat
Although we don't live too far from Cullen, we have been following dolphon watch and we knew that they were active all along the East Coast. We decided to try and book the Cullen Bay hotel as it has great views over the bay. Given the times we are in and different restrictions because of C19 we found the hotel very well organised for guests and the views didn't disappoint. We also managed to get in a quick trip Portknockie to take in the spectacular cliffs there. Well worth a visit.

Wonderful situation; outstanding food
This hotel is in a unique position with panoramic views of the beautifulBay of Cullen, the Moray Firth, the links golf course, the old Seatown of Cullen and the stunning arches of the (disused)railway viaduct.The food is based on local ingredients- lobster, fish, beef, etc and is cooked perfectly.A warm friendly atmosphere and spotlessly clean.

Birthday weekend break
We were four adults two in eighties and two dogs and had a great time well looked after by all the staff. Rooms very clean and well decorated spacious and when the temperature dropped a bit the hearing came on to warm us up.Unique position on the hill above Cullen with golf course and walks right across the road. Lots of parking and good meals and bar for evening. We would return for another visit.

Hotel was very comfortable.10/10 for covid measures.Food is excellent with a good menu.Great access to Cullen and the beach along the footpath.

Family holiday
Our family group of two children, two parents and two grandparents stayed 6 nights at the end of July. The location is perfect for access to the beach. The rooms were very comfortable, the food excellent and the service first-class.

Stunning
My husband and I have just returned from a weeks stay at the Cullen Bay Hotel.We stayed in a superior double sea view room on a b&b basis.The room had the most stunning view across part of Cullen Golf Course and a view right across the Moray Firth.The view was fantastic, could have sat at that window for the whole week and never got bored of the view.The breakfast was great with plenty of choice, could take something different the whole week.Staff were very friendly and attentive.Would definitely stay here again if retuning to Cullen.

A really friendly family seaside hotel
We had a lovely stay with nice weather, beach and nice walks just a step away, sea was warm!Everyone was being careful. Food was good, in all very good value.

I booked my stay at the last minute (just three days earlier) - and this was in July, in the busy summer holiday season. Because the hotel was almost fully booked, my three night stay had to be in three different rooms. Staff were always very helpful and friendly - and always did their best to ensure that I was a happy customer (I returned each evening to find myself presented with a new room key, directions on how to get there, and my luggage already moved for me). Breakfast offered lots of choice, with vegetarian and vegan options available as well. Service was quick and efficient. I had a dinner one evening along with my sister and nephew. Food was excellent. The waitress noticed a gift bag sitting next to the table, and enquired if it was someone's birthday (mine - a few days later). When we were having dessert, she reappeared with a cupcake which had a lighted candle - to wish me a happy birthday (which we all agreed was very nice). The hotel sits in a beautiful location overlooking Cullen Bay, food and accommodation are reasonably priced, and I can highly recommended booking a meal or enjoying a stay there.
